It has been years since I have had nose bleeds and after 6 in as many days I still had not found a good way to stop the flow on my heavy days. I am already on a fairly aggressive prophylaxis treatment plan with my anti hemophiliac factor VIII, 3 times a week 4400i.u. At 102 kilos. The dry weather, my new living conditions with 2 dogs, 2 cats and a super sweet smoker may have contributed a little, but my over aggressive stuffy nose solution created a geyser in the middle of my face.in short I blew my nose too hard and have not successfully stopped the same nose bleed 6 days in a row. After an untimely event while working in the skilled nursing center I work at I was corrected by no less than 2 nurses that I knew nothing of stopping a nose bleed. I was lying on my back, with tissue stuck up one nostril and tasting the blood flow go down the back of my throat. 20 minutes later I still had the same nose bleed. I was instructed to lean forward, apply direct pressure to the bridge of nose with tissues and ice. 5 minutes later I'm doing fine writing this. Thought y'all should know.
